It's almost Christmas!

I haven't written for almost three months. You'd think I'd been busy! I have been productive. I made all my Christmas cards, using different styles and techniques for each of them. I also made fleece blankets for my daughter's two cats and her boyfriend, and my son's girlfriend. There are so many fleece prints out there you can customize them for anyone.

These are double layers of fleece with six-inch fringe tied together. They are super-fast and super-easy. Each blanket takes two metres each of two fabrics. I use one print and one solid. Just lay them together right sides out and trim edges. Cut a six-inch block out of each corner, and then cute a one-inch fringe six inches deep all the way around. Tie the two layers of fringe in a double-knot all the way around, and you're done.

Yarn shops - another weakness!

With autumn now here, another one of my favorite things come out... scarves! Scarves for style, scarves for warmth. I love making scarves. They make up quickly so gratification is quick.

I was in Vancouver this week and popped in to a yarn shop. They had some incredible textured yarns. I now have the makings of three new scarves, all just fun and decorative, so that will be my weekend's entertainment I figure. Will post photos once creative process is complete.

Christmas Cards

Here are some of the Christmas cards I've completed so far. It's not the same being back at work - it's really cutting into my creative time!

But the list ain't done....

I've been on sick leave for six weeks. Felt rough the first four but the last two I've had a fair bit of playtime. I had a list of things I wanted to do before I returned to work today. I've probably accomplished half. HOWEVER - that half included doing up a pile of Christmas cards, which I'm pretty darn happy with. I'll share them tomorrow...
